Another nice VA buck down!

Kip shot this great buck on the same farm in his hometown in Virginia as the "Sticker" buck from earlier this season. Had we got Buckeye pics of this one earlier this year, he may have rightfully adopted the name himself... for obvious reasons. Kip was self-filming, which resulted in a tragic story of the camera battery dying before he was able to get the shot off, but it is one heck of a good buck and a great story nonetheless!

Happy Halloween Buck

The Virginia boys' first trip to the Midwest turned out to be a wet one to say the least. I think it rained 6 of the 8 days we were out there, and at least half of the 15 hour road trips each way. With fields under water, corn still standing everywhere, and 20+ mph winds, the hunting conditions made for a challenging week.

After the 6th day, with more rain in the forecast, and not a single shooter sighting all week, we decided to take down the Ol'man sets and hit the road the following morning. We took down a few sets, and decided to hunt the final remaining set that evening and take it down on the way out. At last light, a GIANT 10 pt came in, but would not offer a shot.

We left the set, and decided to hunt it in the am one last time, before next the thunderstorm was predicted to hit around 10 am. You will have to tune in to the next season of Red Arrow TV for the full story, but here is a few teasers of what we saw that morning ...

Sticker got Stuck!

Season III is off to a great start! Kip arrowed this beautiful Virginia whitetail at a friends property near his house Monday evening.

The Buckeye Cams have been catching this tall tined buck with a sticker off the back of his left g2 in a bachelor group with 2 other shooters all summer long. We called him "Sticker" (original name, we know) and hung a double Ol' Man set and planted a Blue Ribbon Wildlife plot just below what we presumed to be his primary bedding area. He came in to the plot on the second day of the Virginia season, and the rest is history! Gotta love it when a plan all comes together!

New Showtimes

A new quarter started this week on Sportsman Channel, so you may notice some of your favorite shows might not be on or have moved times. We have the final chapter of New Zealand left to air, then will be starting back over with the first show of the season and running through 13.

We still have our THUR 5:30pm and SUN 11am time slots, but also have WED 11:30pm and MON 8am.

We will not be on TUE night in the 8pm slot for this final quarter of the year.

If you started watching us late in the season, the next few weeks will be a great way to catch up on what you missed!

Gator Down!

And it's not just Tim Tebow we are talking about either!

Kip and Josh joined friend Jeff Lampe on a Florida gator hunt with guide Mitch Kline of El Lagarto Alligator Services in the Everglades of Southern Florida over the weekend. The trip was an unforgettable one, with Kip taking his first ever gator with his bow (8 foot 5 inches), and Jeff killing another 8 footer with Kips bow as well!

Over the weekend we became great friends with our guide Mitch, and his son Devin, and look forward to visiting them again soon. Mitch and Devin's knowledge of alligator hunting is second to none, and they put us on about 40 or 50 gators in one night of air-boating. If you might be interested in hunting gators with El Lagato, please drop us an email on our website and we will get you his information asap.

The guys also stopped in northern Fla to dog hunt wild hogs with a local hunt club in the area. They ended up LIVE catching and hog tying a 220 lb boar hog with 4+ inch cutters!

All in all, the weekend was about as intense as it could possibly be. We ended up with 9 hours of footage from the weekend trip, which will be on Season III for Red Arrow, starting in July of 2010.

Bad News Bears

Well, Kip and Kat weren't able to seal the deal on a Canadian Black Bear with their bows. They got some great bear footage, but just could not get one in to bow range before having to head back to Virginia. They are looking forward to heading back up to Canada in the spring of 2010 to see if they can't change their luck and bag the first ever bear on Red Arrow TV!

Hungry Bear

Kip and Kat are on their way up to Hungry Bear Outfitters in Ontario with hopes of taking a couple bears to kick off the 2010 filming season. We'll keep you posted on how it goes!

I think I speak for the whole team when I say that we are wore slam out! The rigs that Catfish and Byron brought were so decked out with lights, we hunted all night long Tuesday until the sun came up... then got a couple hours of sleep and repeated it Wed.

I don't want to spoil the show, so you'll have to tune in when it airs, but I will tell you that the skate did score on 2 separate occasions where Billy and I got manhandled overboard, leading to one of the most unbelievable stories... and we caught it all on film!

Bowfishing Again

Well as you can see from the pictures, the last bowfishing trip on the Chesapeake Bay was a blast. This week we are headed back down to Josh's place on Gwynn's Island with special guests Billy Parker of Hank Parker 3D and trick longbow archer Byron Tabor from Have Dominion.

With any luck and some decent weather, this should turn out to be one action packed episode!

South Carolina Trip

Well it's about time we started blogging, so here goes. Kip and pro-staffer Josh Bartlam kicked off their 2009 Spring Turkey Season this past weekend down in South Carolina with friends Adam and Ben Copenhaver.

Muzzy set us up with some sweet turkey slaying gear, but scattered storms and high winds put a slight damper on the weekend. Luckily, Ben had plenty of hog sausage, backstraps, and Call of Duty on xBox to keep us occupied during the downpours. We still managed to call in a jake, several hens, and a nice tom that just wouldn't provide a good clear shot.

The most eventful part of the weekend came from a hog stalk Saturday that found Kip within 20 yards of 3 nice sows, only to be busted by swirling wind just as he started to draw on one. With all the hogs on the property, it is certain we will be making a return trip equipped with the Scent Strike and Ol'Man stands to bring some bacon back to VA here in the near future.
